Our Aim

Yerwal Estate aims to produce bulls that are sound, moderate framed, easy fleshing, athletic, soft and well pigmented; as good footed sound structured animals will stand up on any soil type barring injury.

The bulls are run in a large contemporary group of 100 plus which helps their transition into new herds when sold that run multiple sire joining groups.  The bulls run on pasture and are supplemented with a high roughage ration when required with the intention of preparing them for a lifetime, not a sale day.

Any heifers or steers that aren’t retained are short term grain fed. This gives Regan a good idea of how the genetics are performing over the hook as well.

Regan and his family are extremely passionate about Simmental cattle and believe the fertility, growth, carcass attributes and adaptability are greatly under utilised in the industry. They have been undertaking large embryo transfer programs to expand the elite top end of the herd including traditional ,straight red and black Simmental . This in turn gives the ability to produce more industry leading sires available for sale particularly aimed at the Queensland market.
