Location and Environment
Lone Station Bulls are bred at Biarra (Brisbane Valley) in extremely hilly scrub country with temperatures regularly exceeding 40 degrees in Summer and often less than zero degrees in winter. Being in the hills and in close proximity to the coast humidity is terrible during the summer season which makes life tough for both cattle and grazier alike. Cattle are exposed to a heavy tick and buffalo fly load where lantana is a continual problem as are feral pigs, deer, dingoes and unreliable rainfall.
Lone Station. Simmental bulls are known for a clean coat type, consistency in growth, structural correctness, sound feet and a commercially focussed approach to stud breeding. Today’s Lone Station females have been carefully selected for calving ease, fertility, growth rate of progeny, clean coat type and eye colouring/pigmentation.
